Reach
THE FIRST 101 DAYS

Time flies when you are hard at work. Time flies when you are having fun. But time really zips past when you enjoy your work, and do it with passion.
During these first 101 days of my tenure as RI Director, I have taken nearly 50 flights, travelled 1 lakh kms. and visited 30 different towns and cities. It has been an exhilarating experience to see Rotarians and Rotary clubs bouncing back from the lockdown and stepping up to serve society in so many different ways.
The service projects I have witnessed include Distribution of Oxygen concentrators all over India with high priority for border areas and North-East India, Dialysis Centres in Bikaner and Wai, commissioning of the Covid Hospital in Erode, the Sparsh Hospice in Hyderabad for terminally-ill patients, the Shri Satya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Raipur for child heart care, distribution of 1 lakh spectacles through Vision Springs, detection of 10 lakh diabetes cases in association with RSSBI, distribution of 1 lakh TABS to children of martyrs on World Literacy Day.
Rotary has also launched an Insurance scheme for Rotarians and a Rotary Visa Card. These are innovative ways to increase involvement and participation in Rotary, and also raise funds for Rotary projects.
I had the privilege of participating in programmes like Governors’ Installations, Installation of Lady Presidents, PrePETS, TRF Seminars, Membership Seminars in different districts. One unique programme was the virtual meeting of Rotary leaders from India, Portugal and Egypt organized by Rotary’s Inter-Country Committee.
As part of my administrative duties, I have attended more than 300 meetings, both physical and online. These include meetings of RI Executive Council, RI Board, Committee meetings on RI Districting and Bifurcation, RI Membership, DEI and Think Tank for Empowering girls, Regional leaders meet for TRF,RC ,RPIC and their coordinators, Rotary India, RILM, RIHF, South Asia office, and Rotary News Trust
I am humbled and motivated by the energy and commitment of Rotary leaders and Rotarians across the country. I am sure this Rotary Year see Rotarians walk the extra mile to Serve to Change Lives
